The Philips SmartBalance Free Floor Standing Gen2 is a high-quality freestanding LED luminaire designed for professional office workspaces. The luminaire combines direct light on the work surface with indirect light from the ceiling, creating a comfortable and even lighting environment without the need for fixed ceiling mounting.

Thanks to its high light output, a single SmartBalance Gen2 can be used to illuminate two desks. This makes the fixture particularly well-suited for flexible offices, project-based setups, and workspaces where high-quality lighting needs to be installed quickly and without major installation work.

Direct and indirect lighting can be controlled separately

SmartBalance Gen2 combines direct task lighting with indirect light directed toward the ceiling. Both lighting components can be controlled separately, allowing users to adjust the light level to suit their personal preferences and tasks.

The controls are located on the luminaire's pole and allow for easy personal adjustment of the lighting.

UGR < 19 for comfortable workspaces

The SmartBalance Free Floor Standing Gen2 is designed for office environments where visual comfort is important. Current models comply with UGR<19, thereby reducing annoying glare during computer and office work.

The combination of direct and indirect lighting also ensures even illumination of both the work surface and the surrounding area.

CRI >90 for high-quality light

With a color rendering index (CRI) of >90, colors are rendered true to life. This creates a high-quality and pleasant lighting environment for extended use in professional workplaces.

The series is available in 3000 K warm white and 4000 K neutral white.

Up to 15,000 lumens of light output

Depending on the model selected, SmartBalance Gen2 is available in versions with 12,500 and 15,000 lumens, among others. Current 4,000 K models deliver up to approximately 139 lumens per watt, combining high light output with relatively low energy consumption.

As a result, a single light fixture can provide enough light for two office workstations placed side by side.

DALI and Personal Control

The current SmartBalance Gen2 models use DALI control with integrated touch controls and a dimming interface. This allows the user to adjust the lighting directly from the fixture.

For projects where centralized lighting control is desired, DALI also offers options for integration with professional building and lighting control systems.

Models with ActiLume sensor

Within this product family, models are available with integrated ActiLume control. This system can respond to occupancy and available daylight, allowing the lighting to be automatically adjusted to the workplace's usage.

This allows energy consumption to be further reduced when workstations are temporarily not in use or when there is sufficient natural light available.

Rounded or sleek head shape

The SmartBalance Gen2 series includes several design variations. The FS485F has a rounded design, while the FS486F features a sleeker head with sharp edges.

In addition, depending on the model, you can choose between a U-shaped or rectangular base and various finishes, such as white, black, and silver.

Long service life

Signify specifies a service life of up to 100,000 hours with L75 lumen maintenance for the SmartBalance Free Floor Standing Gen2. For current models, L85 lumen maintenance is specified after 50,000 hours.

Current SmartBalance Gen2 models come with a 5-year warranty.
