Good lighting starts with how the space is used. An office requires different lighting than a store, warehouse, or outdoor area. Drawing on our practical experience as installers, we’ll help you choose based on light output, light distribution, and control options.     Light Output and Light Distribution
    Lumen indicates the luminous flux of a lamp or fixture; lux describes how much light falls on a surface. Therefore, in addition to wattage, consider the room dimensions, mounting height, and beam width. This allows you to evaluate lighting in the workplace and between shelves in a targeted manner.

    Light Color, Color Rendering, and Protection
    Choose the light color in kelvins and the color rendering index (CRI) that best suit the tasks at hand. Be mindful of glare at workstations and check the IP rating for protection against dust and moisture. Offices, workshops, and outdoor areas each place different demands on the lighting fixture.

    Dimming, Sensors, and Compatibility
    Choose on/off, dimmable lighting, or a system with occupancy and daylight sensors. Make sure the fixture, LED driver, and control system are compatible—for example, with DALI. The options vary by model; for LED tubes, also check the ballast.
