Philips UniBar for linear architectural LED lighting

Philips UniBar is a compact series of linear LED fixtures designed for professional architectural outdoor lighting. The fixture was developed for direct-view applications in which not only the illuminated surface but also the light line itself forms part of the architectural design.

Thanks to its sleek design, continuous lines of light can be created along facades, structures, and other architectural elements. UniBar is therefore well-suited for projects in which buildings and outdoor spaces need to be given a distinctive visual identity after sunset.

BCS340, BCS341, and BCS342

The UniBar series consists of several models, including the BCS340, BCS341, and BCS342. Depending on the model selected, various power ratings, luminous fluxes, lengths, and light colors are available.

The product family includes various lengths, including versions of approximately 300, 500, and 1,000 mm. This makes it possible to assemble individual light elements or longer continuous light lines.

Thanks to through-wiring, multiple fixtures can be efficiently connected in series, which simplifies installation, especially for longer facade and linear lighting systems.

Direct-view architectural lighting

UniBar was specifically developed for applications in which the light-emitting surface is viewed directly. The opal diffuser and low-power LEDs provide a soft and even light output without any clearly visible individual LED dots.

This makes the fixture suitable for applications such as contour lighting, facade accents, and media facades, where a consistent line of light is important.

White light and vibrant colors

Various lighting configurations are available within the UniBar series. For white architectural lighting, models with different color temperatures are among the options available.

  • 2,700 K
  • 3,000 K
  • 4,000 K

In addition, models are available for dynamic architectural lighting, including RGB and RGBW. Depending on the model, monochromatic colors and dynamic white are also available.

This allows a single product family to be used for both subtle static facade lighting and dynamic lighting concepts.

DMX Control for Dynamic Lighting Projects

For interactive and dynamic applications, UniBar models with DMX control are available.

Depending on the configuration, multiple individually addressable pixels can be used within a single fixture. This makes it possible to create color gradients, moving light effects, and other programmed lighting scenes.

This makes the Philips UniBar suitable for media facades, public spaces, landmarks, and other projects in which lighting is an integral part of the architectural design.

Designed for professional outdoor use

Philips UniBar is designed for permanent, professional outdoor installations and combines a compact design with a high level of protection against the elements.

  • IP66 protection rating
  • IK08 Impact Resistance
  • 24 V DC power supply
  • CRI 80 for white versions
  • Opal light diffuser for an even light beam
  • Various mounting brackets are available
  • Feed-through wiring for line configurations
  • Various light colors and color options
  • DMX versions available

Different power ratings and luminous fluxes

The exact performance specifications vary depending on whether the model is a BCS340, BCS341, or BCS342. Within the product family, various combinations of power, luminous flux, length, light color, and control options are available.

When planning a project, therefore, it is important to consider not only the length of the fixture, but also the desired light intensity, light color, control system, and the desired visual appearance of the light line.

Professional Applications

Philips UniBar is suitable for, among other things:

  • Architectural facade lighting
  • Media Facades
  • Bridges
  • Landmarks
  • Squares
  • Public Outdoor Spaces
  • Landmarks
  • Commercial Properties
  • Shopping Centers
  • Infrastructure assets

For larger architectural projects, the combination of fixture length, light color, pixel layout, and control can be tailored to the desired lighting design and the project’s technical requirements.
