Philips TrueForce LED Public (road/off-road – SOX)
The Philips TrueForce LED Public (road/off-road – SOX) was developed to provide an energy-efficient replacement for traditional SOX lamps in existing public lighting systems. The series retains the recognizable tubular shape and B22 base of conventional SOX lighting. This allows compatible existing fixtures to be modernized without having to replace the entire fixture.
In addition, the current generation provides a pleasant white LED light. This improves visibility, color recognition, and comfort compared to the virtually monochromatic light of traditional SOX lamps.
For replacing SOX lighting
The current Signify series consists of three power classes. This makes it possible to select a suitable LED replacement for various existing SOX systems.
- 18W – Replaces SOX-E 26W and SOX 35W
- 28W – Replaces SOX-E 36W
- 36W – Replaces SOX 55W
This reduces energy consumption while preserving the existing light distribution and luminaire design as much as possible.
2,500 to 5,000 lumens
The current TrueForce LED SOX series offers three luminous flux classes.
- 2,500 lumens at 18W
- 4,000 lumens at 28W
- 5,000 lumens at 36W
The efficiency is approximately 138 to 142 lm/W. As a result, the series offers a significantly more efficient alternative to traditional SOX lighting.
4000K with a CRI of 80
All current models have a color temperature of 4000K. This produces neutral white light that is suitable for functional public lighting.
In addition, the current individual Signify products have a color rendering index of CRI 80. This makes colors and objects much easier to recognize than under conventional low-pressure sodium lighting.
B22 lamp base
All current models use a B22 lamp base. As a result, the integration remains similar to that of traditional SOX systems.
Always check the available space and electrical configuration of the existing fixture beforehand.
Direct connection to mains power
The current MASTER LED SOX models are designed for direct connection to mains power. Signify explicitly classifies its current products as mains power only.
The older instructions on this LEDGoeroe page regarding a separate Philips Xitanium LED driver are therefore no longer applicable to the current product generation. The existing wiring must be modified in accordance with the current Signify installation manual.
Not dimmable
The current TrueForce LED SOX models are not dimmable. As a result, dimmability no longer needs to be offered as an option.
The current text on LEDGoeroe that mentions an optional dimming function refers to an older generation and can be removed.
230° light distribution
The current products have a wide nominal beam angle of approximately 230 degrees. As a result, a large portion of the light is distributed around the lamp.
This allows the existing optics of compatible SOX fixtures to be used effectively.
50,000-hour service life
Signify specifies a rated service life of 50,000 hours. In addition, they are designed for approximately 50,000 switching cycles.
As a result, maintenance and bulb replacement are significantly reduced compared to traditional light sources.
8-year warranty
The current individual Signify product pages list a 8-year warranty period. This means the current warranty is significantly longer than the 2-year warranty currently offered by LEDGoeroe.
